Reliability & Maintenance Engineering · Nigeria & West Africa

Stop buying spare parts. Start buying uptime.

Axiom builds the condition monitoring routes, maintenance systems and defect-elimination discipline that move a plant from reactive repair to planned, predictable operation — delivered on site by engineers trained in world-class manufacturing environments.

Every route, task interval and PM we write is anchored to the P–F interval of the failure mode it is meant to catch — not to a calendar someone inherited.

Four disciplines, one reliability system

Most African plants do not have a maintenance problem — they have a defect-elimination problem, an information problem and a planning problem wearing maintenance overalls. We work on all three.

01 · Detect

Reliability & Condition Monitoring

Route-based condition monitoring that finds the defect months before the breakdown, with findings written as work orders a planner can actually schedule.

  • Route-based vibration analysis to ISO 20816 / ISO 10816-3
  • Bearing defect frequency analysis — BPFO, BPFI, BSF, FTF
  • Infrared thermography & ultrasound leak / bearing surveys
  • Oil analysis and lubrication strategy design
  • Precision laser alignment and field balancing
  • FMEA, RCM and asset criticality ranking
  • Root cause analysis — 5-Why, fault tree, failure forensics

02 · Organise

Maintenance Systems & CMMS

The asset register, work management discipline and KPI spine that turn maintenance activity into maintenance data — and data into decisions.

  • Asset hierarchy and taxonomy to ISO 14224
  • Functional location & equipment coding standards
  • PM optimisation and reusable task libraries
  • Spares criticality, min/max and BOM build-out
  • Planning & scheduling — weekly schedule compliance, wrench time
  • CMMS selection, implementation, data migration and clean-up
  • Reliability KPI dashboards and monthly review cadence

03 · Improve

Continuous Improvement & TPM

Operator-owned care and structured loss elimination, so the gains survive after our engineers demobilise.

  • Autonomous maintenance steps 1–3 and 5S deployment
  • OEE measurement and loss-tree analysis
  • Defect handling systems and defect-logging campaigns
  • SMED and changeover reduction
  • Kaizen and DMAIC problem-solving facilitation
  • Standard work, one-point lessons, craft skills matrices

04 · Protect

Process & Asset Integrity

Keeping static equipment, utilities and safety-critical assets inside their design envelope — the failures that shut a plant for weeks, not hours.

  • Risk-based inspection planning and thickness monitoring
  • Pipeline integrity, flow assurance and leak detection
  • Relief device and pressure equipment integrity programmes
  • Rotating equipment integrity — pumps, fans, compressors, gearboxes
  • Utilities reliability: steam, compressed air, chilled water, power
  • Compressed-air and energy loss audits
  • Commissioning, FAT/SAT support and new-asset care plans

How we engage

Diagnose, design, then stay until it holds

A three-stage engagement. Each stage ends with a deliverable you own outright — no dependency on us to read your own plant.

STAGE 01

Reliability diagnostic

On-site assessment of maintenance maturity across work management, CM coverage, PM quality, spares, skills and data integrity. You receive a scored gap analysis with the ranked few actions that carry most of the downtime.

2–3 weeks · fixed fee

STAGE 02

Strategy & roadmap

Criticality-ranked asset register, failure-mode-driven task libraries, CM route design, KPI baseline and a costed 6–12 month roadmap with owners, milestones and the business case behind each move.

4–8 weeks · project

STAGE 03

Execution & embedment

Embedded or visiting engineers run the routes, chair the reliability review, close out RCAs and train your technicians and planners to the point of handover — with remote analysis support between site visits.

6–24 months · retainer

Outcomes

The numbers we are accountable for

We baseline these in Stage 01 and report them monthly. Targets are agreed with your leadership before work starts, so performance is never a matter of opinion.

Leadership

Engineers who have run these systems, not just drawn them

Axiom's directors have built and sustained reliability programmes inside American manufacturing, energy and logistics operations, and across Nigerian oil, gas, FMCG and process industry. Three hold graduate degrees from West Virginia University and publish in predictive analytics for industrial equipment; three read engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The firm is built on that combination — Nigerian plant floors, and the modelling methods that now sit behind world-class maintenance.
